Abstract:

This review discusses practical measures for equine practitioners to address challenges posed by climate change. Topics include potential issues for horse husbandry and management, strategies to mitigate exercise-related heat illness, management of natural disaster injuries, and biosecurity concerns related to vector-borne diseases. By providing evidence-based recommendations along with the authors’ personal experience, this article aims to equip veterinarians with methods to enhance horse welfare under changing environmental conditions.
