Abstract: A syndrome recognized in a number of psittacine species (particularly the Sulphurcrested Cockatoo) which is characterised by feather loss, abnormal feathers and overgrowth and irregularity of the beak. A vlrus, possibly a parvovirus, Is thought to be responsible by inducing a chronic, non-suppurative lesion in the epidermis and feather pulp.
