Abstract:

You may have already noticed the steadily increasing public and political attention to issues of animal welfare which is paralleled by increased interest and involvement of the law and lawyers. This obviously has pragmatic consequences for veterinarians and the veterinary profession whose public role and livelihoods are intimately connected with issues of animal welfare.

The presenter is a veterinarian by background who added a law degree and now works as a government prosecutor on animal welfare cases.
