Abstract: The paper by Jerram RM, Warman CG, Davies ESS, Robson MC and Walker AM published in the New Zealand Veterinary Journal 52, 197201, 2004, entitled, Successful treatment of a pancreatic pseudocyst by omentalisation in a dog contained an error, concerning the units used for the administration of buprenorphine. The units of the dosage of buprenorphine are micrograms per kilogram (µg/kg). It is stated in the second paragraph on Page 198: Analgesic therapy, comprising 15 mg/kg buprenorphine (Temgesic injection; Reckitt and Colman, Hull, UK) was initially administered subcutaneously (S/C) only once.; the second paragraph of the first column on Page 199: The dog was discharged following parenteral opioid therapy of 15 mg/kg buprenorphine S/C.; and the second paragraph of the second column on Page 199: Post-operative care consisted of pain relief of 15 mg/kg tid buprenorphine S/C. The amended sentences are as follows: Analgesic therapy, comprising 15 µg/kg buprenorphine (Temgesic injection; Reckitt and Colman, Hull, UK) was initially administered subcutaneously (S/C) only once.; The dog was discharged following parenteral opioid therapy of 15 µg/kg buprenorphine S/C.; and Post-operative care consisted of pain relief of 15 µg/ kg tid buprenorphine S/C.
