Abstract: A recent study of experimental sarcocystosis in goats showed that the synchronous development of large numbers of sarcocysts in muscle stimulates a cellular reaction by the host. This reaction results in the destruction of a large proportion of the parasite population in the host. Six goats were infected with various doses of sporocysts of S. capracanis, Fischer, 1979 and biopsy samples of muscle were taken at regular intervals
