Abstract: A 12-year-old, spayed, female, collie dog was examined because of haematemesis, anorexia, loss of weight and intermittent abdominal pain. A gastric ulcer was suspected and was confirmed by radiology and gastroscopy. The ulcer was excised. Histological examination showed that the lesion was an ulcerating carcinoma. The dog recovered from surgery but was destroyed 3 months later when symptoms returned.
