Abstract: During the past 18 months, ten outbreaks of a haemorrhagic syndrome in pigs in Canterbury have been investigated by this laboratory. The evidence available suggests that the affected pigs have a defect in their blood coagulation system, but there is no indication of the cause of this defect. These points are common to all outbreaks investigated
