Abstract: The recent letter by Munday (1978) 26, 166, entitled Cats as definitive hosts for Sarcocystis of sheep, regrettably, cannot be allowed to pass without comment. Of the various points in the letter that merit attention, one is of fundamental importance the finding of Sarcocystis infection in the control animals. There are several possible explanations for the results as described in the letter which must be considered
