Abstract: A three-day-event was originally a trial for cavalry patrol mounts. Now it is a competition which demands the toughest, most extensive training and devotion to horsemanship without promise of glory. The French term “;Contours Complet” is more descriptive and accurate than the English term, “Three-day-event”. The object of eventing is to show the rider`s ability, boldness and knowledge of training and conditioning his horse to obtain its best performance across country, and to show the obedience, courage, jumping ability, stamina and speed of a well-trained horse.
