Abstract: I have recently made a study of available history on my great great grandfather, George James Sparrow, one of the first veterinarians to come to New Zealand. He was born in London in 18 14 and entered the Royal Veterinary College on October 13, 1835. He graduated on July 24, 1837 and his address at the time was given as Bromley, Middlesex. From evidence available at present it would appear Sparrow was employed by the British Government as some sort of stock inspector…
