Abstract: First let me welcome you all to this East Coast area, one that plays a significant part in the livestock production of the country and I am convinced will play a greater part in the future as we develop new technologies and resolve some of the problems of the hill country areas. We have seen a major shift in emphasis in land utilization around Gisborne where breeding stock on the more fertile plains have been replaced by more profitable crops.
