Abstract: Bovine enzootic haematuria has been previously described in New Zealand (Kerrigan, 1926; Smith and Beatson, 1970). The disease has been noticed on several occasions in localized areas where the incidence may be very high. It is unknown whether this localized distribution is real or apparent. In order to obtain a more accurate estimation of the numbers of affected properties and cattle in the Nelson area, a survey of urinary bladders was proposed and bladders of cattle sent to the Nelson Freezing Companies Meatworks at Stoke were examined
