Abstract:

While sheep have been shown to be susceptible to experimental infection with Br. abortus (Bang, 1897; Zwick, 1910), there are only a few reports of the isolation of this organism from naturally infected ewes. Br. abortus infection of sheep has been recognized in France (Merou and Pineau, 1937; Huddleson, 1943), in Canada (Bruce, 1930), in the United States (Stoenner, 1951), and in Scotland (Young, 1953).
