Abstract:

The opportunity to give you some ideas upon the condition of bloat as it occurs in England is welcomed. The method of approach suggested here is that of the late Sir James Mackenzie, “The Beloved Physician,” England's most celebrated clinical worker of the first war period. In assessing and solving unknown clinical entities, his method of arriving at a diagnosis is exceedingly useful. It resulted in his famous discovery of the A-V Bundle in the heart. Briefly, where the condition can be limited to a particular organ or set of organs, the primary interference is narrowed down to either Structural-Functional or Reflex.
