Abstract: In New Zealand bovine leptospirosis caused by serotype pomona infection was first reported in 1951 (Anon). Dodd and Brackenridge (1960) described serotype icterohaemorrhagiae AB (= copenhageni) infection in calves causing a characteristic pathological condition first recognized in 1956. In recent years serological evidence has indicated a further infection identified with the hebdomadis serogroup. In 1971 in a survey conducted jointly by the Departments of Health and Agriculture, in the Hauraki Plains, 890 sera from selected cattle were tested for antibodies of nine different serogroups…
